blackh7 Has a Vision of the Future

Our generation will be the first to grow old having grown up with videogames and the internet. This will have a profound impact - the elderly of the future will be unlike the elderly of today. Able to entertain themselves easily, OK with having limited physical mobility. They will fear losing their eyesight, and carpal tunnel, and dementia, but not bone weakness. Poor circulation, maybe. If and when technology passes them by, they can stay in their rooms with the antiquated MMOs of yore.

What happens when the gamer who forgets they have a family turns into an old person who's family forgets they exist? Think of it - an entire generation of the living dead, acting out ever more realistic achievement simulators, wishing they had done something useful while they still could. Or not.

Context is the entire post, public, QWP.
