naamah_darling knows the score:
"I'm sort of a human being first, and a woman second, and when someone pisses on my parade, I don't automatically assume it's because I'm female. I assume it's because they're an ass."
Context has better things to do than be angry all the time.

Leave it to an English teacher to explain irony to Faux News Corp.

pallasathene8 sums up what many have already thought:

So, I watched Fox News' new The Half Hour News Show. I honestly felt bad for them. Conservatives just don't understand satire, I guess.

You see, in order to satire something, you have to mock some kind of flaw with the intention of in some way making things BETTER. Making fun of a conservationist for looking like a hobo and being made someone's bitch in prison, with no attempt to make any point on any relevant issue...not funny. Making fun of liberal politicians for the hell of it rather than any of their views...not funny. I'd hoped, masochistically, that the show would at least infuriate me, but it was really just sad. For them.

1. See IRONY1. 2, 3. burlesque, caricature, parody, travesty. Satire, lampoon refer to literary forms in which vices or follies are ridiculed. Satire, the general term, often emphasizes the weakness more than the weak person, and usually implies moral judgment and corrective purpose.

Not only does their inability to find any real flaws with liberal causes make liberals look pretty damn good, I think they've managed to make Saturday Night Live look funny again in comparison. Well, at least not quite as pathetic. They don't even come close to being a conservative answer to the Daily Show or Colbert Report.

aoe_knight was busy last night . . .

Ah, so in Baldur's Gate, if your character's party gets a reputation of 19, evil characters like Viconia are prone to getting fed up with how nice you are and will leave the party, taking everything in their inventory with them. In order to prevent this, you must occassionally do something to lower your reputation; unfortunately, I have a hard time with this because if you do something that just lowers your reputation a little, like get caught stealing something, you lose a point when the guards talk to you AND then you lose a lot of reputation because you have to fight the guards (unless there's another option here that I'm missing). So since my party includes Viconia, the evil cleric, last night I needed to lower my reputation again. And that's when Chad wanted to know what I was doing.

Apparently "murdering small children" was not the answer he expected.

Context was honest with his roommate.

Well, there's always Iron Man...

moontasticmel was less than impressed by Ghost Rider, and discovered something interesting when writing up the review:

Honestly, the fact that I can google 'ghost rider' and one of the results is Eva Mendes' sauntering horse ass basically sums up the intensity of this movie. Saunter saunter saunter. Ass ass ass.

Context wants to see Anna Nicole Smith brought back in the sequel.
