active_apathy again. And she says she's not a regular... Here in response to "That's LJ in a nutshell for you."

The bits I read would be more like:

Hmm... it's dark, kinda claustrophobic, and smells kinda woody in here. I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think I might be in a nutshell. Except I can't see, because there's no light. That makes it a ninja nutshell. I'm in a ninja nutshell! w00! Avast, ye landlubber, for this be a Ninja Nutshell!

Oops. Make that ninja pirate nutshell. Which I'm in. Bwee!

graeae has a moment of epiphany regarding an online Harry Potter game we're both in.

Must remember this for future- the key to being a slut in HP gaming is not to sleep with anyone.

The key to being loved and cute is to do the opposite.

Quote + mod note

Also, frivolously, if anyone spoils me for Harry Potter 6, I will get medieval on their arse. That includes the signing of the Magna Carta, the Canterbury Tales, a demonstration of the three field rotation system and possibly an illustrative demonstration of the use of an Iron Maiden.

The lady makes a good point. To pre-emptively head off any flamewars, place all spoilers for the next Harry Potter book under a clearly-marked LJ-Cut until, oh, let's say August 1. (In other words: before that is mandatory, after that is courtesy.) That'll give the hardcore fen time to get it and read it, and spare us the hysterical shrieking. :)

Because of course, people can tell a person's history, fighting style, likes, dislikes, hopes, dreams and deepest fears all by a mere glance.

"Oh man, don't go talk to that chick over there!!"
"Why not?"
"Her parents were killed in a freak gardening accident that left her scarred for life. She also hates people with black hair and will kill bunny rabbits on sight because one bit her once."
"..How do you know that?"
"..Duh, I looked at her!"

Wow, I'm doing a lot of quoting tonight.

Lifetime movies

nowgoesquickly on Lifetime movies, quoted from a locked post with permission:

One day, we'll turn on the TV and find Mark Consuelos playing Adolf Hitler, with Rosa Blasi as the glamorous Eva Braun. The film will portray the Fuhrer from a new, different slant -focusing first on his secret, forbidden romance with Ms. Braun, and if the producers have time, they might get around to mentioning the Holocaust itself, in a brief montage sequence, showing perfectly coiffed and made up concentration camp prisoners debarking from cattle cars. But in between, there will be lots of steamy shots of Mark and Rosa, playing Bedroom Olympics. Wait for it. You know it's coming.

me: cough hack hack
docs: umm...she has...yeah..BRONCHITIS! thats the word. now she has to inhale this stuff whose side effects include, of course, diarrhea.
me: why do almost all drugs have that side effect, anyway?
docs: FDA regulation.
me: ...righto.

From this post, annlarimer gives voice for every single one of us who sneak computer time on the job and dare to visit LiveJournal:

Can't laugh. At work. Can't laugh. At work. Can't laugh. At work. Can't laugh. At work. Can't laugh. At work. Can't laugh. At work.

ask obvious questions, receive obvious answers.

*headdesk*

I know better than to a) ask obvious questions, and b) post a no-spoilery plea on my LJ. Hilarity has ensued.

First, this morning I groaned about not being able to get sleep, and called my sleep patterns (or lack therof) "evil", and posed the question to my fellow journalers, Does anyone know how to get rid of this evil?

bioproject: REPENT!

Second, I posted a "spoiler free zone, in effect til further notice" public service announcement regarding the HBP book release, and, in the last five minutes, the spoilers have already begun. Oh, the lol. Beware the fangirly caps.

forposterity:OMG MY FAVORITE PART WAS WHEN LUPIN MARRIED BUCKBEAK OMG!

AND ON PAGE 314, WHEN HERMIONE PUNCHED RON IN THE FACE AND HE DIED? OMG WOW!

lilycobalt: LUPIN MARRIED BUCKBEAK?!? OMGWTFBBQ!!1!

My hopes that Ron and Hermione will get together have been dashed! ;_;

it's always page 314 where the interesting stuff happens...

forposterity: OMG TOTALLY!! LUPIN WORE THE PRETTIEST PINK GOWN AND BUCKBEAK HAD A BOWTIE!

...and of course, more spoilers, including Draco/Dean, Luna/Neville, continue...

Oh, the imagery. It hurts me brain.

I sometimes wonder what these trolls and their 'armies' think they're going to do about me. Destroy me through the power of bitching in their livejournals? If that worked, George Bush, Tom Cruise, and tviokh would have spontaneously combusted years ago.
