"So you've got something stuck up your..."

Every overadventurous woman should read this wisdom, courtesy of Insanejournal user "Deadpool".

I troubleshoot computer networks for a living, but I do have a wealth of other information. From time to time the situation arises where you need to do a little problem solving on something else.
So here, for the layman (well I guess that would be laywoman) is how to Troubleshoot that pesky vagina.

amanda_r muses about this summer's hurricane pattern.

As my co worker said yesterday, it's like bowling, and Florida is the lane. Charley came from the left, Frances from the right. Ivan is going right down the middle. Steeeeeee-rike!

typos and lesser-known ancient civilizations

From a thread in discworld about Pyramids (Egypt satire) and ancient Egypt:
Yes, Wgypt. The lesser known ancient land just next to Egypt, and known in certain circles for their inability to spell... Their capital city "Teh Ctiy" was home to the largest population of people who refused to double check their spelling before sending messages or inscribing tombs, making their language almost impossible to translate now. All that is known about the people of Wgypt is that a mass migration forced them from the land thousands of years ago, and their decendants can be found around the globe, polluting internet communities and spamming chatrooms with such phrases as
"i liek compleatly luv them! tehy r0x my sox00r!"

snowking worries about science gone maaad here

Robot eats flies to generate its own power

British scientists are developing a robot that will generate its own power by eating flies.[...]

"Called EcoBot II, the robot is part of a drive to make "release and forget" robots that can be sent into dangerous or inhospitable areas to carry our remote industrial or military monitoring of, say, temperature or toxic gas concentrations," New Scientist magazine said on Wednesday.

Flesh consuming robots we "release and forget" about. Oh, that's not gonna backfire. WE ARE DOOMED.

Mythological bitchiness...

In which the wonderful rex_dart tells it like she sees it.

Oh, yeah, and Beowulf is teh suxx0rz. During class I can't stop making vague (and not-so-vague) references to the fact that Akhilleus would rip his sack off like a paper towel if they ever met. In the Epic Poetry Car Show, the Iliad and Odyssey are a pair of matched 1926 Bentleys and Beowulf is an avocado green Pinto with no muffler and a sheet of duct tape in place of one of the rear windows that's only important because it was the first one off the assembly line. Open note to any 11th century scribes that may be reading this posthumously: CHARACTER. DEVELOPMENT. I'VE READ HARRY POTTER MARY SUES WRITTEN BY 12-YEAR OLD GIRLS WITH MORE DEPTH THAN YOUR HERO. THANK YOU.

Yes. All I can do tonight is bitch and whine.

I just got a spam mail with the following header:
