I kinda see giving blood the way I see cunnilingus, I'm not very good at it, and I tend to prefer more direct ways of making people feel good, but it increases the global happiness. Of course, thats a lot of oversimplification, like cunnilingus is a lot more fun than laying on a table as they take a pint of your blood out. And with giving blood you get juice and a cookie, guaranteed. But its good enough for a first approximation.
